What is New Age Religion exactly? In our search for such things as the new age and new age religion there are volumes of information available. Most of it is from Christian sources warning of the dangers and error of following this path spiritually. I wish to correctly lay out the landscape of all this debate so that the reader can get an unbiased view and make up their own mind. As I have a lifelong passion for all things emotional and spiritual, I have decades of experience in the religious world and this wisdom is shared freely here.
There are flaws both in fact and in their logic in the Christian false accusations against New Age beliefs. They all start by explaining that New Age is a mixture of various beliefs including mysticism, reincarnation, metaphysical things to include tarot cards, crystals, essences, numerology, astrology and other eastern religious practices. Their accusation of being an assortment of different beliefs with no leader or foundation is false and intended to discourage someone from considering looking to us for answers. The Christians are as bad or worse. The Christians portray themselves as one unified belief system that is all of one mind and spirit based on an unchanging foundation of the infallible word of God.
This is the same group writing these false accusations that carried out the Spanish Inquisition persecuting heretics. They also enforced the witch trials in Salem and Winston Massachusetts torturing painfully learning disabled, frail, and socially backward women over three hundred years ago. They also carried out the Crusades millennia before that and in so doing not only attacking Muslims but also sects of their own Christian religion who were at disagreement with each other, with full forgiveness from their clergy for doing so. Christians long for that position of absolute power to return again to them so they can enforce God’s judgement on us New Age followers who they claim we all deserve punishment from their almighty God. To mainstream Christianity, we New Age believers are guilty by accusation. Their posture in the bad Christian churches are the same today as those in the Dark Ages of early Christianity. A few high character churches do exist, but are infinitely small in number.

Further examination of the Christian community will reveal they are not as unified as they claim, another lie. There are a multitude of various denominations, and why is there a Catholic and Protestant division in the Christian religious world? What is amusing is they all claim that there is only one right theology and they each claim to believe it and all the other denominations are wrong. So, if only one is right, then which of all of them is it?
Here is where it gets interesting. If you notice all of them imply something else very subjective, that benefits their argument and degrades New Age inquirers and believers totally. Their implications also endorse their violating your boundaries and your right to make up your own mind. All their stand against any other religion is based on one flawed premise: If you believe in the right religious view, it will impart spirituality to you. Their job handed down to them by God is to make others think exactly like them, and make them believe the same as them. Moreover, they are not to respect those others, their culture, or give any respect to their religious views since it is different than the Christians.
New Age or New Age Christianity believes the opposite. Just like a pair of shoes must comfortably fit the wearer, the religious view must be comfortable for the one believing it as well. Christianity has its hatred and fear of New Age thought because both disagree on what makes a fully actualized human being. Christianity believes to be complete; you must be like them. New Age believes to be complete; you must be like yourself. Christianity hates individuality and expansion of self. New Age loves and encourages it. There is more, Christianity cares only about theological agreement. They do not care about, promote or teach anything about character, honor, virtue or personal integrity whatsoever. They are dismissive of it and claim reading the Bible will teach you all you need to know. When this point is brought up, they will completely ignore it. They also never recognize any virtue outside their own ranks.
New Age teaches respect of your individuality, and the virtues of character, personhood, honor and integrity as the highest traits a person should embrace in themselves. Character in Humankind is the highest trait we should all strive for and is not acquired except by being taught and role modeled by each of us to each other. New Age recognizes the main two sources of character are the common man in the community, and motherhood in the home. When those two sources are fully functional, there is no need for a religion, as Christianity claims. What there is a need for is a visible example of all these virtues, and that is completely possible without a religion.
Christianity claims the purpose of existence is for you to need religion. New Age claims you need to find yourself as God intended you to uniquely be, and those are two different directions.
Mainstream Christianity claims you need to seek God’s will in their church, reading their Bible and letting them tell you what to think.
New Age claims you need to seek God’s will for your life by looking within yourself at what your talent, gift or interest is, because God already put His will within you as revealed in your predestined life path God created for you to live.
Mainstream Christianity claims you have a sin problem, and you are to be ashamed of who you are and you are to change to be like everyone else. Everyone else being the members of their church.
New Age claims you should be proud of yourself, find and embellish that which is within you that makes you different and showcase it.
Mainstream Christianity teaches you must see things through God’s eyes. The way they practice this is in any church, demonstrating character is not necessary, but out-righteousing each other, which is for them their fashion show parade.
New Age teaches God already put how you should see things in your own eyes, and he wants you to use them. God brought all the animals to Adam for Adam to name, and He did the same for you.
Christianity hates it when one seeks enlightenment in New Age thought, but New Age welcomes that one would consider Christianity as a personal fit for themselves. If it fits one to believe Christianity, then we are happy you found your home.
This proves there are two different spirits at work here. Mainstream Christianity teaches it is wrong to be yourself. Conformity to the point of loss of self is Godly, and they will tell you how to be godly. Put yourself last, even in your own private world.
New Age teaches it is spiritually healthy to have boundaries, and in your world, you should come first, that is your Garden of Eden you are to oversee. Not only that, but the naming of all the animals also includes seeing things through your own eyes, feeling your own feelings, thinking your own thoughts, making your own choices. Beyond that God’s will is for you to follow your own dreams, work building those dreams, and lastly sharing those achievements joyfully with all Humankind. God’s will is within you implanted in your individuality, and obeying God is in doing these seven things.
No wonder Christianity hates New Age, because New Age beliefs and values support our personal self-expansion and contribution to each other, and Christianity suppresses it. Lastly Christianity is about their church and their denomination. New Age is about bringing out the finest attributes of God’s highest creation and integrating their gifts for each other’s benefit. Christianity wants you to become a Christian, New Age wants you to become a doctor, so your gift of in the future curing cancer can benefit Humankind. New Age wants you to be happy doing whatever God put in your heart that will make you happy. The reason New Age Christianity even exists is because mainstream Christianity has failed miserably to meet the spiritual needs of the masses. People are tired of the phony, righteous, godly, elitist judgementalism of the church managements. They are a joke. So, which religious discipline is better? You decide for yourself by looking through your own eyes.
